The Aakash Institute was established on September 22, 1988 by J. C. Chaudhry to prepare students for various Indian entrance exams in New Delhi, India. Aakash started its IIT-JEE Division in 2007 under the brand Aakash IIT-JEE, to offer coaching to engineering aspirants across the country.
Aakash has a country-wide network of over 50 centres across India, with a collective annual student base of more than 40,000 students every year.

Aakash provides classroom coaching for students studying in Classes VIII, IX, X, XI, XII and XII passed with a focus towards preparing for Indian competitive exams of medical and engineering like NTSE, Olympiad, KVPY, IIT-JEE, AIEEE, AIPMT, AIIMS etc.
The Aakash National Talent Hunt Exam (ANTHE)[1] is the 100% Scholarship program for medical and engineering coaching aspirants run by the Aakash Institute. This scholarship program was started in November 2010 to search talents of students from Class X and to provide them free coaching for the next two years to crack national and state level Medical and Engineering entrance exams in India.[2]
A student who is either passed class IX or studying in Class X is eligible to participate in ANTHE. There is no percentage based eligibility criteria.
The ANTHE exam is conducted in two stages:
In ANTHE Stage-I, there are a total of 3200 students selected (out of which 2400 for Engineering and 800 for Medical) as qualified candidates for the second stage. There is no negative marking in Stage-I but 1/4th negative marking in Stage-II. The Students must score at least 60% marks in Stage-I in order to qualify for Stage-II.[3][4]
In ANTHE Stage-II, there are a total of 800 students finally selected (out of which 600 for Engineering and 200 for Medical) across India to avail free Aakash Institute 2-years regular classroom coaching programs.[5][6]
There are more than 100 test centers arranged by Aakash Institute every year across India to join this one-time opportunity in life for each student of Class X. The test centers are allotted to each student on the basis of their test center preferences, nearby birth place and availability.[7] The students who will qualify the ANTHE Stage – I Exam are issued a fresh admit card mentioning a New Roll No. and venue for appearing in the ANTHE Stage – II and Personal Interview.
Generally, the ANTHE Stage-I is conducted in last week of November and the result is announced in second week of December. The ANTHE Stage-II Exam is conducted in last week of December and the final result is declared in first half of January.[8][9]
